Introduction

 

Yeast protein expression system is a ideally suitable expression system for both secretion and intracellular expression as the yeast offer relatively easy genetic manipulation and rapid growth to high cell densities on inexpensive media.

 

Strains

 

Different strains of yeasts show different in their capabilities to secrete, process and modify proteins, meaning different types of yeast suit for different research and industrial applications. Common yeast protein expression systems are Pichia pastoris, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Kluyveromyces lactis, Hansenula polymorpha, and Yarrowia lipolytica.

 

Expression vector construction (optional)

 

CELLFREE provides the service of directly cloning genes into commercial expression vectors such as methanol-induced pPICZα,pPIC9K or component pGAPZα, etc..
